our mission

f_ck wasting.
did you know that every german produces about 5 kg of clothing waste every year?
did you know that approx. 40% of newly purchased goods are rarely – never worn?
did you know that used clothing containers are being dismantled because the quality of the items (condition or fiber) is too poor and the disposal costs exceed the output?
did you know that the fashion industry produces more CO2 than all international flights and cruises combined?
we want to offer sustainable, high-quality and fresh fashion. with manila, we want to take a step that most of the fashion industry is not yet taking. too expensive. too unsafe. who’s going to buy it? I am convinced that there is a change to consume more consciously and to value things more. i believe that sustainability is not a trend, but a value that remains.
let´s talk banana.
the banana fiber is extracted from the banana plant. however, no new banana plants need to be planted for this purpose, as there are already enough of these due to banana production. since banana trees have only one life cycle and therefore only produce bananas once, they are disposed of after harvesting.
this is where we come in! we want to use these banana trees for our production. this way we turn trash into high quality fashion without producing more or extra CO2.
the process to extract the fiber is complicated, but possible. without chemicals.
once this is done, you get a very tear resistant, qualitative and water repellent fiber. kinda the same is happening with the additional fiber of the ananas.
Stay healthy!

qwstion is the producer of the fiber, here is a documentary how the fiber is won:
